Route Feedback: Murray's Direct

Murray’s Direct. As the new guidebook (2023) says ‘Three historical variations, each with it’s own distinct character, combine to produce an intimidating and stimulating classic’. Why therefore has it been described as two pitches? Much better as three, allowing time to appreciate the history of the route. Another example of guidebook writers combining pitches to get climbs done as quickly as possible. I think the next edition (if there ever is one) should go back to the traditional way of describing the three pitches separately and stating that 1 and 2 can be combined, if you are in a hurry!
