Some very sad and shocking news…  Yesterday, a tragic fatal accident that befell Steve Clegg was reported from Spain. After climbing at Murla near Calpe with Ted and Christine Rogers, Steve fell from the approach path, a fall he did not survive.

Steve joined the FRCC in 1974, quickly making his mark in the North Lakes with ferocious bold routes such as The Voyage in Borrowdale, Close to the Edge and The Gates of Delirium on Raven Crag, Thirlmere climbed with Pete Botterill. Many will remember Steve for his boyish smile and dry humour. Our thoughts are with his family…
