Michael Smith is a Former President of our Kindred Club, The Yorkshire Ramblers. He has also held many other positions for that club over a considerable period of time. He is an active mountaineer and a member of the Alpine Club.
He will be a valuable member of the FRCC. He should be elected to full membership immediately .
It isn’t very pleasant and reflects very badly on our Club that distinguished and accomplished members of Kindred Clubs who apply to join the FRCC are treated as “ordinary” applicants. Surely there must be a way of accelerating their applications?
I would appreciate a thoughtful and positive response from the Club.
Having been Michael Smith’s original Proposer for FRCC membership, I can agree with Rod Smith’s sentiments and trust that the membership sub-committee (and main committee) expedite this upgrade. (Correction to Rod — Michael is actually a member of FRCC, but his upgrade to Full membership is probably a bit overdue) Jim Gregson
