Every year as the sun heads south, the snowbirds flock to the Calpe area of Spain to sun themselves on the warm rock of Costa Blanca.  Over December and January there is a migrant group who come together to drink coffee, climb, walk, share lifts, drink beer, ascend Via Ferratas, descend canyons, scramble ridges  and cycle around the roads.

Though not an official meet (no one is responsible for your arrangements and finding you a climbing partner!) many members try to catch up at least a few times during their stay. There is no organiser or much organisation bar a casual plan, people sort their own flights/ferries and local transport, accommodation and food.

During the stay the cast changes regularly but there’s usually people about until late January and occasional stray singletons breeze through. Last year we had a few larger outings, many smaller gatherings and a regular morning coffee and evening beer arrangement

Our primary communications are via Whatsapp, last year there was a CC and a FRCC group, this year we are combining them. It’s a fairly low traffic group, which is open now, for advice, info and sharing plans.
