Route Comment: Monolith Crack
Posted by: Trevor Langhorne, 09.05.2018 The photodiagram in Lake District Rock (page 353) incorrectly marks the first section of Monolith Crack (line 3 on the diagram). The line shown is actually Hippos Might Fly (E1 5a). Monolith crack starts up a slanting break left of the line on the diagram before stepping right to reach a tree and junction with line 3. The line (numbered 17) shown on the photodiagram in the Borrowdale guide (p53) is correct.
