Route Feedback: Saturday Height Fever / Double Dip
Posted by: Andy March, 17.02.2023 This is shown as unrepeated. We repeated it on 9/2/23, grade seemed OK, the description for Saturday Height Fever seemed better.
There is an abseil station above Closing Bell etc.
Also repeated Closing Bell, Gold Standard (the list of gear needed seems excessive, just “gold cam before the traverse right in the break”)
There is a disconnect between the Download and New Routes Comments.
Saturday Night Fever is a combination of the start of Double Dip and the finish of Black Tuesday. SNF needs deleting from the download. On the Lickle Crag feedback notes there is a photo showing the route lines missed from the guide.
Several routes missed the cut off for the guide, hence the confusion.
On Gold Standard, I included the cams used as a rack of either single or double axle cams doesn’t work on this route.
I only ever include gear advice if a typical standard rack is inadequate.
( hard to explain in a sentence, but some placements only suit single axle cams and vice versa.)
There is a band of brittle rock, hence the overhang and ledge, relying on one runner hereabouts is not a good idea.
Despite cleaning a lot of interlocked blocks from the roof , still managed to pull an undercut off on the lead.
We gave the route a more thorough going over after the FA.
Height not Night, please edit.
