Camping is available in the garden (but bring your midge repellent between June and September).

Location
Waters Cottage is the FRCC’s hut in the Kinlochleven area – it was the first of the club’s Scottish huts.
Hut Capacity and Facilities
Waters Cottage has a total capacity of 28 beds (8 male, 5 female and 15 mixed). There are two kitchens and two lounges.

Nearest Telephone/Mobile Connection
Mobile phone reception is good at Waters Cottage. There is a payphone on the way in to town, 3 minutes walk from the hut.
Facilities in the area
Kinlochleven is on the West Highland Way, a long distance footpath from Milngavie in Glasgow to Fort William, and has various amenities including several pubs, a Co-op, and fish and chip shop. There is also a museum in the visitor centre showing how the village developed around the aluminium smelting industry.
There is a bus service (44) from Kinlochleven, passing through Glencoe, to Fort William. Times may also be checked on the Traveline Scotland and Stagecoach Highlands websites.
Climbing and Walking
Waters Cottage forms an ideal base for walking or climbing in the Western Highlands with easy access to the Mamores, the Glen Coe hills and Ben Nevis.
History
Waters Cottage was purchased by the FRCC in 1990 as a former police station (the ladies shower is now in the old cell). It was bought partly using a legacy gifted to the club by Chris Waters for £40,350.
When the club took ownership, the Civil Defence Building (CDB) was separate from the main hut and not heated. In 2000, the club built the “link” to incorporate the CDB into the main hut (again, using part of a legacy from Mollie Hyde-Parker)
